'Discontinue use immediately' - String lights sold to Irish consumers may cause electric shock

A safety issue has been identified with string lights sold online to Irish consumers.

According to the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC), the Achin Outdoor String Lights sold on Amazon present a risk of electric shock to consumers.

The product - model number ILE12-20-10050, Amazon ASIN B09PG3Y1DL - reportedly does not meet the requirements of the relevant regulations.

The product was sold online through Amazon and there are approximately 48 affected products in the Republic of Ireland.

If you purchased one of these products please discontinue use immediately.

You may wish to contact Amazon to see if there are any remedies available to you.

This can be done via your user account on Amazon.
