ONE LUCKY Lotto syndicate got a midweek windfall, winning over half a million on the same night that a €7.7m jackpot was also won.
The syndicate, from Dublin, said that they have been “playing the same numbers for years.”
The group scooped their Match 5+Bonus prize in last Wednesday’s draw, October 4, after scheduling their play online on the National Lottery app.
The winners of €581,131 realised their win immediately, as a member of the group checked their email straight away: “We are used to getting the emails about smaller wins, which are usually around €3 or so, but last week’s email was different.
“Even though I could see it with my own eyes, I certainly didn’t believe it right away. You hear of so many scams happening lately that I was convinced my account must have been hacked.”
On the same night, two lotto players in the capital also won €7.7m to share.
