SHOCKING: Three people dead and another critical after four collisions in four counties

Three people have died and another is in critical condition after four separate collisions in four counties over the weekend. 

The first incident occurred on Saturday March 11 on the N12 in Monaghan when two cars collided at approximately 11.15am. 

The driver and sole occupant of one of the cars, a man aged in his 50s, received fatal injuries following the collision.

Two persons from the second car were taken to Drogheda and Cavan Hospitals for treatment of injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening. 

The second incident took place on the R176 in Carlingford, Co Louth in the early hours of Sunday March 12. 

The collision, involving a single car, occurred shortly before 2.30am and the driver in his 30s later passed away from his injuries.
 
The third incident - also involving a single car - occurred at approximately 3.30am yesterday morning near Pallasgreen in Co Limerick. 

The driver of the vehicle, a woman aged in her 20s, suffered fatal injuries following the collision. 
 
A male passenger (aged in his 30s), is currently receiving treatment for serious injuries at University Hospital Limerick.

A female child and a male toddler are also receiving medical treatment but their injuries are not life-threatening. 

The final collision - involving a car and a pedestrian - occurred yesterday evening shortly before 8pm at Spunkane in Waterville, Co Kerry. 

The pedestrian (a male in his 50s) was taken by ambulance to Cork University Hospital where he is currently in a critical condition. 
  
Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to any of the collisions to come forward, particularly those with dash cam footage.
