Glengad FC have said that gardaí are following a definite line of inquiry into the vandalism which took place on the pitch.

The club had previously taken to Facebook to say: “Some thugs thought it funny to ram the gate and then proceed to severely damage the playing pitch.

“These things don’t normally happen in our community. The committee have worked tirelessly to build the best facilities for our players and the whole community and it is unfortunate that these thugs don’t appreciate this.

“If anyone has any information please contact the Guards in Carndonagh or any committee member.

“Please share and help find who done this!!”

The club has now issued the following update: “We at Glengad FC want to thank everyone who came forward with information in connection with the damage to the Football Pitch at the Crua.

“Massive thanks to  the committee and to the local community and to all the people that offered help in any way.

“The Guards are now following a definite line of inquiry.

“Thanks from all at Glengad FC.”
