Garda Annmarie McGrath giving Noah Gooch Sarah's Christmas gift box
Two young Donegal boys who have suffered serious illnesses have received Christmas gifts from their local gardaí for their bravery.
The boys, Ray Campbell and Noah Gooch, have both been made “honorary” gardaí by the Little Blue Heroes Foundation, a charity operated entirely by volunteers of gardaí and retired members of the force that helps families who have children undergoing long-term medical treatment for serious illness.
Ray, who suffers from the genetic disorder neurofibromatosis, was presented with a Centenary medal and certificate at Buncrana Garda station by Superintendent Goretti Sheridan. He was also given 'Sarah’s Christmas gift box' in memory of Sarah Robinson who passed away in 2019 aged 16, following a battle with cancer. Before she passed Sarah made arrangements to give something back to the charity to support other families of Little Blue Heroes.

“Ray does a fantastic job all year helping Gardaí in Buncrana and so we think Santa will be extra good to him this year,” gardaí said.
In Letterkenny, Noah Gooch, who has fought a brave battle with leukaemia, was paid a visit by Garda Annmarie McGrath from the community policing unit, and he too was presented with his Sarah's Christmas gift box.
“We have no doubt that Honorary Garda Noah and his big brother Lee Jnr are right at the top of Santa's 'nice list' as they are definitely two of the best boys about.”
