A County Derry community is mourning the death of a Donegal woman who was a much-loved housekeeper to a local priest.

Nancy McCallion, late of the Parochial House at Brisland Road in Eglinton, passed away yesterday (September 1).

Ms McCallion, a native of Meedinmore, Quigley’s Point, has been described as a “dedicated housekeeper” to retired priest Fr Michael Keaveny, who is from Moville.

A death notice stated that Nancy was the “beloved daughter of the late Denis and Ellen McCallion and dear sister of the late James, Mary, Sean, Teresa and Helen, a much loved aunt, dearly loved and will be sadly missed by the Fallon family, Walter, Peter, Nicky (Nicola) and Deirdre, and her entire family circle and many friends”.

Nancy’s remains are reposing in the home of her niece, Helen Grant, Ture, Muff, F93F8F5. 

Her funeral will take place on Friday, September 5 at 11.20 am for requiem Mass in St Patrick’s Church, Iskaheen at 12noon.
