Welcoming the announcement by the Minister for Social Protection and Rural and Community Development, Dara Calleary, Donegal Minister of State, Charlie McConalogue said: “Donegal has a large number of groups and organisations that do excellent work in their communities, and I very much welcome this significant allocation of funding through the Community Recognition Fund.”
“I am aware of how hard the people in these community groups and organisations work to maintain and improve things in their localities, and I know the money that is being allocated in this latest round of funding will be well spent,” the Minister of State for Sport and Postal Policy added.
“It’s extremely important that as many groups, clubs and organisations as possible across Donegal get the necessary funding to allow them to prosper and develop, and expand over time,” Minister McConalogue said.
Pat the Cope Gallagher TD added: “The funding has the potential to have a positive impact on communities right across Donegal. Investing in projects in our towns and villages will greatly benefit our local communities and it’s important that facilities continue to be improved and upgraded. The Community Recognition Fund supports local communities that have welcomed new communities into their area.”
