Smashed car window
There have been eight reported cases in Donegal of smashed windows since last week, including one by two balaclava-clad individuals.
Garda Niall Maguire said that there has been an increase in the number of windows being damaged, between cars and properties.
“We’ve had several cars and homes that had broken windows, " Garda Maguire said. “It’s a very serious crime for the injured party in this and a very expensive thing because a lot of the time insurance policies don’t cover these windows.”
The incident involving the masked individuals took place in Emmet Park, Castlefin at 10am, May 9. Both individuals were also carrying crowbars and proceeded to break the downstairs windows of a home and then fled on foot from the estate.
Another appeal included an incident that took place at a takeaway in Dungloe on Saturday going into Sunday morning, May 10. A female is believed to have ordered food from the takeaway and when she was leaving the premises, she kicked over some chairs resulting in a window being broken.
Gardaí in Dungloe are asking for the woman to come forward.
