There are a host of St Patrick's Day parades taking place around the county this Saturday, Sunday and on the date itself, Monday
Ardara
On Sunday, at 1.30pm, Ardara will host its St Patrick’s Parade - filled with fun, music, and community spirit. “Now, it’s time to make 2025 the best yet,” the organisers say.
Ballyshannon
Ballyshannon parade kicks off at 2pm, and this year it celebrates one of Ballyshannon’s most famous sons, blues guitar legend Rory Gallagher
Bundoran
The parade starts at 3.30 pm, and the team at Bundoran Community Centre invite you to join them at 12pm in the Main Street Community Centre before the parade starts for refreshments and some are fun arts for kids.
Buncrana
Scoil Trad Bhun Cranncha will hold a live session in the Market Square from 1.30pm and there will be a vintage car display on the shore front car park also from 1.30pm. The parade itself will start from 3pm.
Burtonport
This Annual day of Culture takes place in St Columba’s Community Centre on Monday, March 17, beginning at 12 noon. A great variety of entertainment will be on show on this day for all age groups, with all proceeds divided between the RNLI Arranmore, Burtonport Festival and St. Columba’s Community Centre. Carrick
A St Patrick’s Parade will take place in Carrick on Saturday, The parade will begin at 12 noon, starting from Colaiste na Carraige. Floats are asked to be in attendance from 11.30am at the latest.
Creeslough
This year’s theme, Local Legends: Past and Present, celebrates the incredible figures who have shaped our community. The parade takes place at 12 noon on Monday.
Donegal Town
St Patrick’s Day Parade in Donegal Town will take place on Monday at 3pm.
Take the opportunity to soak up the atmosphere, live music on the Diamond with ‘Riosca’ before the. Four of the very best marching bands in the region will take part in the parade, along with local schools, groups and businesses all bringing their own unique creativity, sound, colour and enthusiasm.
Downings
The Downings parade will get underway on Sunday at 1pm, where participants are asked to choose their own theme. There will be prizes for Irish lanhuar floats, €250 the best, then €100 and €50. Floats are asked to be at the pier from 12:30pm
Dunfanaghy
The Annual St Patrick’s Day Parade will be held in Dunfanaghy, leaving from Moores Shop at 1.30pmon Monday. There will be prizes for the best float and there will also be a Fun Fair in the town on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Dungloe
The St Patrick's Day Parade will have the usual bands from 3:30pm on Monday on Main Street.
Dunkineely
Dunkineely Community Ltd is inviting members of the public to come and celebrate St Patrick with them at their annual parade this weekend. Describing the village as a ‘small place with a big celebration’, it will host the event on Saturday from 1.30pm to 2.30pm.
Glencolmcille
The St Patrick’s Day parade in Glencolmcille will start from the Naomh Columba GAA grounds at 3pm. All floats are asked to assemble at Pairc na nGael for 2.30pm. The route will travel up Main Street and conclude at Hall Muire.
Kerrykeel
Organisers of the Kerrykeel St Patrick's Day Parade are putting out a big call for people (of all ages) to take part in this year's Parade - Clubs, Playgroups, Businesses, Family-Friends Groups and Individuals. Registration and line-up takes place at Scoil Colmcille National School from 2pm. Parade begins 3pm sharp
Kilcar
Kilcar Parish Council are looking to get “as many floats as possible” to go down the street with the St Cartha’s Pipe Band on St Patrick’s Day. The event starts at 12 noon.
Anyone interested in adding a float to the parade or anyone wishing to volunteer is asked to email kilcarsecretary@gmail.com or contact Parish Council.
Killybegs
Killybegs St Patrick's Day parade takes place at 3pm on Monday.
Killybegs Community Council welcomes anyone wishing to take part, please be at the Vocational School by 2:30pm. There are great prizes of €350 for the best float and €150 for the runner up.
Letterkenny
Traditional family day. Entertainment at Courthouse Junction from 1.45pm. Photo-booth and entertainment at the Market Square. Parade starts at 3pm
Mevagh
Organisers are looking to continue to grow the parade and floats, so if you have a business, group, individual or just looking to participate, give us a shout. Anything goes! The parade will start at 1pm on Monday.
Moville
Events on Saturday, March 15 include Ciorcal Comhra in the Corner Bar, Bingo in St Eugene’s Hall, an Irish Themed Quiz in Rosatos. On Sunday, March 16, there will be a 5km run from the The Big Tree, a Car Treasure Hunt which starts Maguire’s Bar and Ceol agus Rince Tradisunta in the Trawlerman Bar. On Monday, March, 17, there will be the St. Patrick’s Day Parade at 2.30pm followed by live music by David Craig.
