Paul Doherty will take on the Inishowen 100 route non-stop, starting on May 9
Paul Doherty (Mullier) from Gorteyarn, Carndonagh, is set to take on the Inishowen 100 route nonstop to "shine a light" on the incredible lifesaving work Pieta House does.
Pieta House provides free counselling to those with suicidal ideation, those engaging in self-harm, and those bereaved by suicide.
Paul, who is now based in Hampshire in the UK, says he has always had a deep passion for ultramarathons and pushing his limits in endurance events across different places.
But after three years of planning and preparing—along with incredible support from local Garda and Pieta House management, he has decided "It’s time to bring this challenge home."
Paul will take on the Inishowen 100 route non-stop this May 9, running through the night into May 10.

"This is more than just a personal test of endurance", said Paul, "It’s a way to shine a light on the lifesaving work Pieta House does.
"The more conversations I’ve had with Pieta, the more I’ve realised just how much they need our support now more than ever.
"Through discussions with Pieta representatives and the Garda, we decided this was the right time to make it happen. Their guidance has been invaluable in ensuring both safety and impact.
"For years, I’ve watched from afar as people at home in Ireland came together at 4am for Darkness Into Light, walking, running, and standing in solidarity for suicide awareness and prevention.
"Being based in the UK, I’ve never had the chance to physically join in—but every year, I search social media, seeing the smiles, the effort, and the unity across all generations. You inspire the world, and now, I want to do my part.
"The support I received last year was nothing short of amazing, and I truly hope you’ll stand with me again this year. I’ve reached out to many people to help make this unusual, yet deeply meaningful event happen, and I can’t put into words the kindness and encouragement I’ve received.
"If you can, please donate—every bit goes directly to Pieta House, helping them continue their essential work. Let’s make a difference together." You can donate through Paul's GoFundMe page by following this Link
