Geraldine Mullan with her late mother Margaret Connaughton
The mother of Geraldine Mullan passed away last week following an illness.
Margaret Connaughton, who was aged in her late 80s, died at her home in Williamstown, Co Galway, last Thursday and was laid to rest on Sunday, February 9.
Her daughter Geraldine, who lives in Moville, was the sole survivor of a horrific crash at Quigley’s Point in August 2020, losing her husband John (49) and their children Tomas (14) and Amelia (6) when their car plunged into Lough Foyle during a storm.
Following the tragic deaths, which deeply affected the entire Inishowen community, Mrs Connaughton attended many memorial services and events here and became a familiar and much-respected figure in the wider Moville area. The late Mrs Connaughton’s son Henry also lives in Moville.
