Gardaí from Buncrana and Letterkenny Roads Policing Units were out on the roads on Wednesday targeting drivers who were using/holding their mobile phones while driving and detected 10 road traffic offences while on their travels.
Among those stopped today by their Roads Policing Units were six in Buncrana and four more in Letterkenny, who were detected using their phone while driving. Fixed Charge Penalty Notices were issued, a €120 fine and three penalty points.
"Please keep your eyes and your mind on the road at all times when driving," an Garda Siochana warned. "Put your phone and other distractions away. It only takes a split second and a brief lapse of concentration for a tragedy to happen."
