Body of man found at vacant Burnfoot property

Gardai have launched an investigation following the discovery of a man’s body in the Burnfoot area.

The body was found at a vacant property at Dundrain, Burnfoot at around 2.30pm today.

An Garda Siochana say they are investigating “all of the circumstances surrounding the death” of the adult male, who has not yet been identified.

The probe is being led by officers from Buncrana Garda Station.

The man’s body has been removed to the mortuary at University Hospital Letterkenny for a post-mortem examination.

The office of the State Pathologist and the local coroner, Dr Denis McCauley, have been notified.

The scene remains preserved for technical and forensic examination. The results of the post-mortem will assist Gardaí in determining the course of their investigations.
