A car was seized after reports of congregations of vehicles in border areas

Two drivers have been arrested after incidents close to the border on New Year’s Eve.

A car was also seized after reports of congregations of vehicles in border areas of Inishowen. 

Video footage taken in Muff on New Year’s Eve and posted on social media showed cars performing 'donuts' before a convoy of cars travelled through the centre of the village.

A Garda spokesman said gardaí responded to reports of a congregation of vehicles in the Bridgend area on the night of December 31.

Two drivers were arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of an intoxicant and one vehicle was seized under section 41 of the Road Traffic Act.
