CLG Charn Domhnaigh have posted a moving tribute to the late Tiernan Doherty-Kelly.
Tiernan was tragically killed in an early morning single-vehicle collision on the Mountain Road at Ballinlough, outside of Buncrana.
"Today was a truly heartbreaking day for our club and our community," they posted. "The tragic passing of Tiernan Doherty-Kelly leaves us all at a loss as we try to get our heads around the events of last night.
"From a very young age, it has been our privilege to watch Tiernan play football and hurling with skill and determination for our club and even more so in the last year as he had come through to start playing adult football for the club and showed us what we all knew, that he was a star. Tiernan was a shining example for our younger players and always greeted everyone with a smile.
"Whilst our loss is immense it's nothing compared to that of his family and friends. We extend our deepest condolences to the Doherty and Kelly families at this time and our thoughts and prayers are with them all. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam."
