The proposed greenway from Buncrana to Carndonagh is part of a plan to have a network of greenways across Inishowen
A third non-statutory public consultation is taking place for the Buncrana to Carndonagh greenway project.
The consultation, which will involve in-person public consultation events in Buncrana and Carndonagh, is being held by Donegal County Council with the support of Transport Infrastructure Ireland.
Residents of the area, members of the public and other interested parties are being invited to take part.
The project is nearing the completion of phase 2, the option selection process.
In December 2023, the second non-statutory public consultation was held, and seven route corridor options were presented following the completion of the preliminary options assessment.
Donegal County Council says the options have been subject to a further detailed assessment in accordance with the TII project manager’s manual for greenway projects, TII Project appraisal guidelines and the Department of Transport’s transport appraisal framework, leading to the identification of the emerging preferred route corridor.
