Donegal woman in court accused of stealing €36,000 from relative's bank account

The 25-year-old woman from Carrigans was before Letterkenny District Court and a book of evidence is to be served on the accused later this year

A woman has appeared in court charged with stealing more than €36,000 from the bank account of a family member.

Amy Harpur's case was called at this week's sitting of Letterkenny District Court before Judge Éiteáin Cunningham.

The 25-year-old accused woman's address was given as Pump Street in Carrigans.

She is charged that she did steal property to wit €36,027 the property of Andrew Harpur at Ulster Bank, Main Street in Ballybofey.

The alleged thefts took place between June 7, 2021 and July 10, 2022.

The charge is Contrary to Section 4 of the Criminal Justice (Theft and Fraud Offences) Act of 2001.

Garda Sergeant Gerard Dalton asked for the case to be adjourned to allow for a Book of Evidence to be served or to hear directions from the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Judge Cunningham adjourned the case until December 9, 2024.
