Garda appeal following a fatal road traffic incident
A motorcyclist in his 60s has died in a road traffic incident in Bunbeg.
The man was killed in the single-vehicle incident on the R257 road at around 2.50pm on Wednesday.
The man was fatally injured. He is the sixth person to die on Donegal's roads in less than three weeks and the 14th so far in 2024 – four more than in all of 2023.
The local coroner has been notified, and arrangements will now be made for a post-mortem examination.
The road was closed for technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators, and has since re-opened.
Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.
A spokesperson said: “Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area at the time are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
“Anyone with any information is asked to contact Milford Garda Station on 074 915 3060, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.”
