Burnfoot burglar disturbed in the act

A man was observed entering the shed of a property in that area and it is believed that an attempt may also have been made to gain entry to the house

An intruder made off in a black car after being disturbed during an early-morning burglary in Burnfoot last week.

Gardai are investigating the incident which occurred in the area of Crislamore, Burnfoot on Wednesday, July 17 at around 5.35am.

A man was observed entering the shed of a property in that area and it is believed that an attempt may also have been made to gain entry to the house.

The intruder was disturbed in the act and he left immediately in a black car with another man. They travelled in the direction of the Main Road (R238). No damage was caused to the property and nothing was stolen.

A garda spokesperson said: “We appeal to anybody who may have been in the area of Crislamore or the R238 between 5am and 6am on that date with a dash-cam to make the footage available to us.

“If anybody can assist with relevant information, we ask them to contact Gardaí in Buncrana on 074-9320540. The Garda Confidential line may be contacted on 1800 666 111.”
