Donegal pub celebrates 10 years in business

The Foot Inn are celebrating 10 years in business

The Foot Inn Burnfoot is celebrating 10 years in business this weekend 19-21 July with events every night.

Seamus and Madeline O’Donnell are a local family in the area and they decided to buy the pub off Henry Donaghy in July 2014.

Seamus’s heart was always in the Foot Inn as he was a loyal customer in the past. He mauled over buying the pub for 20 years as he always thought he would love it. Since the O’Donnell's took over they have made it a family run business with their sons and daughters and aunties working there.

They have gone through some tough setbacks since owning the bar. In 2017, they had to deal with the flooding that affected the area and the pub's floors were destroyed.

Like most businesses the pub had to adapt to survive the pandemic. They had an outdoor bar but it was a great struggle. Even with all the struggles the couple managed to keep the business going.

The couple love seeing their friendly, loyal customers coming in through the door. The pub always has a great atmosphere and there is plenty of craic inside.

To celebrate their decade in business the pub will have a poker night on Friday beginning at 8pm sharp.

On Saturday there will be live music from ‘Off the Record’ between 7-9pm followed by Slim Attraction from 9:30pm. There will also be a ‘Take your Pick’ €500 Jackpot.

On Sunday there will be live music from ‘The Unpredictables’ at 3pm followed by a ‘Horslips Tribute’ from 7pm. Mark Conaghan will finish by playing at 9:30pm.

It is sure to be a great weekend and everyone is welcome to join.
