The Volkswagen Golf was seized during a drugs operation and has been transformed as a new addition to the Garda Roads Policing Fleet as part of Operation Nexus
The Donegal Division has extended gratitude to most attendees for their “cooperation”, as the Donegal International Rally has ended.
This follows the road safety initiatives launched by An Garda Síochana such as “Keep the race in its place” and “Operation Nexus” as well as cross-border road policing operations with the PSNI. High visibility checkpoints were conducted over the three-day event with vehicles seized and fixed penalty notices issued.
“We wish to thank the majority of people who visited Donegal over the course of the rally weekend for their compliance and cooperation,” An Garda Síochana Donegal shared. “Most of the visitors were law-abiding and an absolute pleasure to deal with and we hope you all had a nice weekend.
“For those who have yet to travel home, we wish you a safe journey. Drive with care and keep within the speed limits. Take a break and stop for a coffee if you are tired. The main thing is that you all get home safely. We hope to see you again in 2025.”
