Breaking: Male pedestrian (20s) dies in Moville road collision

The man, a pedestrian, was killed when he was struck by a car at Ballynally, Moville, shortly after 1.30am.

A man in his 20s has died following a road traffic collision in Moville in the early hours of Sunday.

The man, a pedestrian, was killed when he was struck by a car at Ballynally, Moville, shortly after 1.30am.

He was pronounced dead at the scene

The driver of the car was taken to hospital for assessment.

The deceased man’s body has been removed to Letterkenny University Hospital where a post mortem examination will take place.

The Donegal Coroner has been informed.

The scene has been preserved to allow for a technical examination.

Garda Forensic Collision Investigators will examine the scene.

The road has been closed and local diversions are in place.

Gardaí are urging anyone who may have witnessed the collision to come forward.

A spokesperson said: “Road users with camera footage (including dash-cam) from the Moville area around the time of the collision are requested to provide it to Gardaí.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact Buncrana Garda Station at 074 932 0540, the Garda Confidential Line at 1800 666 111, or any Garda station.”
