I Love Inishowen Day is aimed at raising awareness of attractions such as Carrickabraghy Castle in Ballyliffin
Go Visit Inishowen’s inaugural I Love Inishowen Day is taking place on Saturday, June 8.
The premise behind the initiative is to celebrate all that Inishowen has to offer, bringing together tourists and locals alike in a day of festivities and exploration.
To mark the day, there will be a free family event at the Go Visit Inishowen tourist office in Buncrana on Saturday, June 8 between 1pm and 3pm. Transition year students from around Inishowen participated in a flag competition to create a flag for Inishowen.
The competition was judged by Artlink and local historians and the winner was Eava Deeney from Crana College. The flag will be launched on the Go Visit Inishowen flag pole outside the tourist office.A range of other businesses across Inishowen will participate by offering amazing deals and hosting events to mark the day. Glendowen Craft Shop is holding an open day featuring live music and craft demonstrations.
Artist Sinead Smyth is hosting a free painting event from 2pm to 4.30pm at the picnic area by Malin Bridge. A range of Inishowen bars will be playing host to a special Inishowen cocktail menu of unique cocktails inspired by the local area and putting on live music throughout the day and evening.
