Gardai in Donegal have issued a warning over people calling to the homes of elderly people.
The bogus 'salesmen' are reported to have called to some homes offering to sell power tools and generators.
Several such reports were made in the Buncrana area.
Some of these men are also reported to have visited retail car parks, also offering to sell power tools and generators.
“Take note of any vehicles/callers in your area that appear suspicious,” a Garda spokesperson said.
“This type of activity should be reported to your local 24/7 Garda Station immediately.”
Gardai advise not to buy items from these callers and have asked people to alert their elderly or vulnerable neighbours and family members.
