Attempted burglary at Burnfoot home

The ring doorbell of the house alerted the residents that someone was at their home at around 3.53am

Concerns about burglaries where people were at home raised at Tipperary JPC

Residents in a Burnfoot home were alerted to an attempted burglary at their property in the early hours of Tuesday morning, May 21.

The ring doorbell of the house at Grianan View, Carnshannagh, Burnfoot, alerted the residents that someone was at their home at around 3.53am.

Footage showed a figure at the doorstep. The person was well covered up, was carrying a torch and wore gloves.

They tried the door handle and seemed to search outside for a spare key. No damage was caused and nothing was stolen.

A Garda spokesperson said: “If anybody travelled in that area in the early hours of this morning with a dash cam we ask them to please make the footage available to us. Any relevant information may be passed on to Gardaí in Buncrana on 074-9320540.”
