Garda warning after speeding van driver in Donegal tests positive for cocaine

A speeding van driver in Donegal tested positive for cocaine on Friday.

Gardai from the Buncrana Roads Policing Unit were on duty when they detected a van travelling at 124km/h in a speed zone of 100km/h.

The driver subsequently tested positive for cocaine and was arrested.

Gardai say that further test results are now awaited.

A Garda spokesperson said: “Never take risks on the roads. Slow down and never drive while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.”
