Gardai are on the hunt for a blue BMW that fled the scene of a collision in St Johnston at the weekend.
The collision occurred on the Derry Road, St Johnston at around 8.45pm on Saturday, January 13.
Investigating Gardai believe that the vehicle drove across the border into Northern Ireland.
The blue BMW, with a partial registration of ‘RNZ’ was travelling from the Lifford area towards St. Johnston when it struck a car that was travelling in the opposite direction.
The driver of the BMW did not remain at the scene. The driver of the car that had been struck was not injured.
A Garda spokesperson, who said it was their belief that the car was driven across the border following the incident, said: “We appeal to anybody who may have travelled in the area of St. Johnston or on the road between Lifford and St. Johnston between 8.15pm and 9.15pm and who had a dash cam to make the footage available to Gardaí.
“If anybody witnessed the collision we also ask them to make contact with Gardaí in Letterkenny on 074-9167100.”
