Gardai have launched a manhunt following a spate of incidents, including the highjacking of a car, in Bridgend on Sunday evening.
Gardai have confirmed to Donegal Live that the force is investigating ‘a number of incidents’ of criminal damage as well as a highjacking of a car.
It is believed that vehicles were damaged by a gang wielding weapons.
The incidents took place at around 8.30pm close to the Donegal-Derry border.
A Garda cordon remained at a business premises in the border village on Monday morning.
A spokesperson for An Gardai Siochana says that no injuries have been reported and no arrests have been made at this time.
A Renault Traffic van at the premises was surrounded with Garda tape on Monday morning while another vehicle, a Ford car, which had several windows broken, was also cordoned off as Gardai continued their probe.
A Garda spokesperson said: “Investigating Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to these incidents or anyone with information to come forward to them.
“They are particularly appealing to those with video footage (including dash-cam) who were in the Bridgend area, between 8.15pm and 8.45pm, to make contact.
