There is widespread anger in Buncrana after damage was caused to the town’s Christmas tree.
Vandals struck overnight with the result that the lights have not been switched on today.
Organisers of the Buncrana Christmas Lights have obtained footage that shows four people climbing inside the tree and damaging it.
They say €800 worth of damage has been caused.
A spokesperson said: “We've an appointment at the Garda station tonight, with clear footage of 4 idiots who caused over €800 damage to the Christmas tree. You have until 5pm this evening to pay up, or this footage goes public and goes to the Gardai.”
Late last month, someone nipped stands on the tree, the lights on which were officially switched on on November 24.
