Palestinian oud player Reem AnbarOud player Reem Anbar is appearing in Culdaff this weekend
Musicians and speakers from Inishowen and Palestine are to take part in a night of solidarity and support for Palestine this weekend.
The event, titled Inishowen for Palestine, will take place at The Wee Hall in Culdaff on Friday, December 1 at 7.30pm.
Music on the night will be by The Henry Girls, Ríoghnach Connolly, the Gazelle Band-led by Palestinian oud player Reem Anbar, Li ban, Roisin McGrory and Clodagh Warnock, Kate O'Callaghan, Eleanor Lamb and Hannah Gallagher.
They will be joined by speakers Majida Alaskari, Fadl Mustapha and Fiachra O’Luain.
Tickets for the evening cost €20 and all proceeds will go to Medical Aid for Palestinians and Amos Trust.
The event is being run by Irish Artists for Palestine, a coalition of artists running an all-island programme of solidarity events for Palestine.
The concert will be followed on Saturday by a celebration of Palestinian music and culture.
The event, which is organised by Irish artists for Palestine and Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign, is taking place in the Wee Hall from noon on Saturday, December 2.
There will be a book launch and music workshop from noon to 1.30pm with Louis Brehony, author of Palestinian Music In Exile - Voices of Resistance, and oud player Reem Anbar. Singers, instrumentalists and non-musicians are welcome.
At 1.45pm there will be a showing of the Bafta-winning short film, The Present (2020).
Refreshments are provided and there is a €10 donation on the door.
