Irish Guide Dogs are looking for temporary boarders and puppy raisers
The Irish Guide Dogs For The Blind is holding an information event in Donegal so that people can find out more about how they can play a vital role in a guide dog’s development.
The event takes place in Fahan Presbyterian Church Hall on Sunday, December 2 from 11am to 1pm.
A spokesperson said: “Meet local Puppy Raisers and Temporary Boarders to learn about their critical role in the first stages of training our puppies as they begin their journey to becoming life-changing Guide Dogs and Assistance Dogs.”
The organisation says there are many benefits to getting involved, including:
-The challenge and reward of seeing a puppy develop in your home.
-The satisfaction that you have had a pivotal role in providing Guide and Assistance Dogs that enable people with a vision impairment or families of a child with autism to enjoy the same freedom and independence as everyone else.
-The opportunity to learn new dog training skills from our Puppy Raising Supervisors.
-The opportunity to make new friends by joining a community of like-minded individuals.
