Uninsured vehicles seized by Donegal Gardai in road safety clampdown

Gardai in Donegal have unleashed a road safety offensive in recent days.

Two vehicles were seized in Inishowen on Sunday as they were believed to be uninsured.

Gardaí from the Buncrana Roads Policing Unit stopped a vehicle in the Quigleys Point area which has excessively worn tyres and fixed charge penalty notices were issued.

Several more FCPNs were issued on Monday in respect of a range of offences. Gardai mounted a series of checkpoints with the Buncrana Roads Policing Unit joined by Road Safety Authority Ireland on Tyre Safety Day.

Motorists received fines for defective/excessively worn tyres, seatbelt offences and mobile phone-related driving offences.
