Fashion and homewares retailer Carraig Donn to open its first Donegal store in Buncrana.

The retailer, which has 42 stores across Ireland, is to open a store on Buncrana’s Main Street on October 20.

The company, which was established in 1965, says recruitment is underway for a range of positions from store managers through to part-time sales assistants.

It will open its store in the 12,000 square feet former premises of long-established local retailer Topline.

In a statement, the company said a suitable opportunity had not arisen in Donegal before now.

“We’ve been asked for years when is Carraig Donn coming to Donegal? We are thrilled to finally have this opportunity and we simply cannot wait.”

The retail chain said it is excited by the prospect of opening a store in the county and knows from its online business that it has a strong customer base across Donegal.

Carraig Donn is a lifestyle retailer with extensive offerings in ladies' fashion, jewellery, accessories, lingerie, gifts, homewares and Irish brands.

The company showcases exclusive brands and international fashion labels such as Pala D’oro, J’aime la Vie, Rowen Avenue and Knight & Day alongside the best of Irish design brands including Orla Kiely, Newbridge Silverware and Eoin O Connor.

The Buncrana store will include a dedicated floor planned to showcase the exclusive labels of Rosa Belle, CD Dwell and Heritage alongside Irish brands Max Benjamin, Galway Crystal, Newbridge Silverware and more. There will be an extensive gallery department which will house an eclectic collection of Occasional Furniture, Wallart and Lighting.
