Oisin Doherty and Danny McDaid celebrate their catch

The first salmon of the year was caught at the Crana River this week, by Oisin Doherty, who assisted by Danny McDaid.

The fish was then safely released back into the river. This all happened just 48 hours after Danny caught a brown trout, which weighed approximately 2.5lb, he was helped to land it by PJ Doherty. This year the Crana is allowed to harvest salmon, after six years of catch and release.
