Deaths in Donegal, Sunday evening, June 25, 2023

The following deaths have occurred:

Colm Grant, Burnfoot

Charles (Charlie) Timoney, Luton and Ballintra

Astrida Griffin, (née Konsina) Bunbeg

John Gallagher, London and Kinlough

- Sadie McGee, Middle Dore 

Colm Grant, Burnfoot
The sudden death has occurred of Colm Grant, 17 The Cottages, Burnfoot.

Predeceased by his wife Evelyn. Much loved father of Fergal, Seamus, Aisling, Kevin, Sinéad, Conor, Rory, Aoife and Dara. Dear brother of Tillie, Margaret, Bernadette, Mickey, the late Mary Ann, Willie, Johnny and Paddy.

Deeply regretted and will be forever missed by his sons, daughters, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, great grandchild, brother, sisters, his extended family and friends.

Reposing at his home on Monday, June 26 from 11.00am.

Removal on Wednesday morning, June 28 at 10.15am to St Aengus' Church, Burt for requiem Mass at 11am followed by interment in Burt Cemetery.

Family time please from 11pm to 11am and on the morning of the funeral.

Family flowers only please, donations in lieu, if desired, to Croí - Heart and Stroke Charity c/o any family member.

Charles (Charlie) Timoney, Luton and Ballintra

The death has occurred of Charles (Charlie) Timoney, Luton, England and formerly Drumholme, Ballintra.

Suddenly, at his residence in Luton, England.

Predeceased by his parents, Patrick & Lizzie & brothers, Patrick, Edward, William & Philip.

Sadly missed by his partner, Monica, daughters Donna (Gavin), Sharlene (Lorcan), Roisin (Aran), Caeleigh, sons, Edward (Judith), Ciaran (Mary), Paul (Avril), Cathal (Lara), Joe (Shauna) & Cian.

Much loved by his grandchildren Jack, Aaron, Dylan, Jamie, Éireann, Liam, Abbie, Rois, Tiegan, Micheala, Paddy, Saoírse, Tiernan, his brother, sisters and extended family.

Charles will be taken home to Ballintra for burial after Mass in Luton, with further funeral arrangements to be announced later.

Astrida Griffin (née Konsina), Bunbeg

The death has taken place at Letterkenny University Hospital of Astrida Griffin (née Konsina), Ballindrait, Bunbeg and formerly of Grier House, Letterkenny and Latvia.

Her remains reposed at Roarty’s Funeral Home, Derrybeg on Saturday.

Funeral Mass on Sunday, June 25, at 1pm in St. Mary’s Church, Derrybeg, with private cremation at a date to be confirmed. 

John Gallagher, London and Kinlough

The death has occurred peacefully in London on June 18, 2023 aged 64 years, of John Gallagher, Battersea, London and Mullinaleck, Kinlough, Co Leitrim. 

Predeceased by his parents Paddy and Patricia Gallagher, Mullinaleck, and his brother Dermot, Kinlough.  
Deeply regretted by Karen, his loving daughters Kate and Niamh, his brother Colm, (Lareen, Kinlough), sister Yvonne, (London) and all his many relatives and friends.

Funeral will take place in London at a later date. 

Sadie McGee, Middle Dore

The death has taken place of Sadie McGee, Glenrothes, Bun na Leaca and Middle Dore.

She passed away very peacefully in hospital in Scotland on June 5 aged 94, with family by her side.

Requiem Mass will take place at St Paul’s, Glenrothes on June 27 at 10am, followed by interment in St Drostan’s at 11am, followed by a meal at Balgeddie House at 12 noon. Family flowers only, please.
