Dust off the barbecues - temperatures reach 20°C in parts of Donegal

There was a great buzz of activity across Donegal with people out and about enjoying the sunshine.

Many families were making the most of the last day of the school holidays with trips to the beach, albeit mainly in wet suits.

And the ice cream machines were in near constant flow in shops around the county, with anecdotal reports of temperatures reaching 20°C.

Barbecues were brought out from sheds and garages and given a good dusting off, and there was plenty of gardening being done as everyone tried to make the most of the warmer weather.

The last few weeks have felt quite chilly, and the south easterly wind that gave that nip to the air is popping up again on the forecast later in the week.

But for now, the warmer southerly breeze gave eveyone a Sunday to enjoy, and the promise of more sunny days to come.
