Buncrana teenager, Rocco McGinley has sadly passed away
There is widespread sadness across Inishowen this morning following the sad passing of Rocco McGinley.
The Buncrana teenager was diagnosed with a brain tumour in October 2021 after experiencing headaches, unsteady gait and slurred speech.
Brave Rocco had received treatment in the US for his condition.
A pupil of Scoil Mhuire, Buncrana, the school wrote on their Facebook page: "It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our 3rd Year student, Rocco. Rocco passed away earlier this morning surrounded by his loving family.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with his mum and dad, his brothers and sisters and all his extended family and friends. May Rocco rest in peace.
"‘how very quietly you tiptoed into our world, silently, only a moment you stayed. But what an imprint your footprints have left upon our hearts’."
