Locals using one of Donegal's most beautiful beaches have reacted angrily today at indiscriminate dumping there.
The Straghill beach outside Buncrana has been a magnet for tourists and locals alike for years.
There are two ways to get to this beach, either walking along the coastal path from Buncrana or by car straight to Stragill. The remoteness of this beach is what is so attractive about it. When the tide is out you can walk over the soft wet sand and check out the rock pools. Dogs love it here too!
Today however things changed as walkers found rubbish dumped beside ...of all things ..the no dumping sign at the strand.
This includes a bag of rubbish, a picnic basket full of used items and other matter.
"This is a lovely, clean beach and great for walking. It's so big I don't think it would ever get crowded. It's glorious on a sunny day but dumping like this would put me off coming here," said one local.
It is expected that gardaí and the local municipal district officers will be looking into the matter.
