Occupants escape injury as car catches fire

A car burst into flames on the road between Killea and Newtowncunningham on Sunday evening

Occupants escaped injury when the car in which they were travelling caught fire.

The incident occurred on the R237 road between Killea and Newtowncunnigham.

Just after 6pm on Sunday evening, a vehicle got into difficulty and burst into flames.

Fire services were called to the scene to extinguish the fire.

A Garda spokesperson confirmed that no injuries were reported and no offences were disclosed.
