Luke Rudden has left Finn Harps and joined Ulster Senior League champions Cockhill Celtic.

The 20-year-old striker confirmed his decision to leave Harps on social media, tweeting: “And just like that 5 years @FinnHarpsFC comes to an end.”

Rudden's announcement came hot on the heels of news of the departure of another Donegal man, Conor Tourish.

On Wednesday night, Donegal Live confirmed that Tourish has decided against staying at Harps. Instead, Tourish has returned to Letterkenny Rovers.

Rudden graduated from the underage ranks to the Harps first team in 2021 and scored his first senior goal in a 5-0 thrashing of Longford Town on the final night of the season.

Rudden found game time limited in 2022, making just 13 appearances – including only one start – with Harps relegated from the Premier Division. In March, Rudden netted a late consolation goal in a 3-1 defeat at Sligo Rovers.

He joins a Cockhill Celtic side facing into a busy period. They take on USL leaders next weekend in a huge game in the defence of their title.

Later this month, Cockhill are due to face Avondale United in the FAI Intermediate Cup. Gavin Cullen's side were quarter-finalists in the competition last season.
