The Muff Liquor Company has received some great social media exposure as Russell Crowe shares his New Year’s plans with millions of followers.

Crowe posted a photo of a bottle of The Muff Liquor Company’s Irish Potato Craft Gin on Twitter, saying: “Getting ready for 2023.”

His tweet has been viewed by almost 750,000 people in less than 24 hours.

Many of his followers have joined the conversation, some sharing their own favourite New Year’s Eve drinks, others with the inevitable ‘Muff’ jokes and innuendos.

One person tweeted: “From the great town of Muff Donegal. With its own diving school. Also the petrol station Top Muff and the sign ‘You are now entering Muff.’”

Another replied to the New Zealand born movie star with a photo of the famous ‘Welcome to Muff’ sign, saying: “Just drove through the village this morning, I'm sure you'd be made very welcome for a visit to wonderful Donegal!”

And another follower asked: “Muff Liquor- how did that get by the PC brigade?”

Mr Crowe also received a number of invitations to visit Muff, some no doubt sincere, others somewhat tongue in cheek, so to speak!
