The Buncrana Tidy Towns Initiative’s environmental essay competition is open for entrants for 2024.

The award has been running since 2015. Originally called the Environmentalist of the Year Award, it is now known as the Greta Award. It is open to Transition Year students from any of Inishowen's five secondary schools.

The 2023 award was won by Euan O’Brien of Crana College for his essay on sustainability.

Students interested in entering the 20214 award, which was a prize of €100, must submit their essay to their TY coordinator by February14.
