Car clocked at 137km per hour by Donegal Gardai with fixed penalty on the way

A car was detected travelling at 137kph in a 100k/ph speed zone on the N13 over the St Patrick's Day weekend by Buncrana Roads Policing Unit.

A Fixed Charge Penalty Notice will be issued to the driver. They will now face a fine of €160 and will receive three penalty points.

On Saturday, a road safety ‘Day of Action’ took place in the North Western Region. 

The operation consisted of high-visibility checkpoints and patrols along the main arterial routes through the three counties, led by Roads Policing Units based at Donegal Town, Letterkenny, Buncrana, Carrick On Shannon, and Sligo.

"Stay safe this Bank Holiday weekend. Slow down and help save lives," Donegal Gardai appealed.
