Walk-in vaccination clinics over Bank Holiday weekend announced

Letterkenny location will be offering additional protection vaccine against Covid-19 including on the new Bank Holiday Monday

The HSE confirmed this morning that they will be operating additional walk-in Covid-19 vaccination clinics this Bank Holiday weekend in Donegal. In Letterkenny this will include the Bank Holiday Monday itself and each day until then.

A walk-in vaccination clinic at the new primary care centre in Donegal Town will be available until 5pm this Friday evening.

Sinead McConnell, General Manager, Covid-19 Vaccination Programme HSE Community Healthcare Cavan, Donegal, Leitrim, Monaghan, Sligo told donegallive.ie:

“We are offering people in Donegal many options of where to get their vaccinations this Bank Holiday weekend.  We are offering Covid-19 vaccinations in Donegal town and Letterkenny this week at the above times. We would encourage everyone to top up their protection against Covid-19 as soon as possible.”

No appointment is needed and you can attend any of these walk-in clinics, located around the country, to receive your next booster vaccine if you are 18 years and over.

Everyone will be offered a bivalent booster vaccine. Vaccines are proven to be your best protection against serious illness from Covid-19. If you haven’t had your booster vaccine yet, you’re at high risk.

With Covid-19 still very active in our communities, the HSE are making it easier than ever for people to top up their protection against the virus.

Currently there are high levels of respiratory viruses, including Covid-19, in circulation in the community. Therefore it’s important that all eligible people avail of Covid-19 booster to protect themselves and those around them from serious Covid-19 illness.

All people in the 18-49 years age group are eligible for their second Covid-19 booster, provided it is six months since their last vaccine or since they had a Covid-19 infection.

The HSE will also issue a reminder text messages to the 18-49 year olds due a booster. Almost 1.7 million are in this group and to date 95,000 or 6% have taken their second booster vaccine

You can check the number of Covid-19 vaccines you have already received and the date of your last Covid-19 vaccine on your digital Covid-19 certificate.

Booster Covid-19 vaccines are also available at participating GPs and pharmacies and information on getting your booster dose of the Covid-19 vaccine is available here.

Times for all clinics nationally are available at www.hse.ie/walkin.
