The 100% Redress Party was established following movements across Donegal in response to the devastation caused by defective concrete blocks used to build houses.

The party said it aims to fight for justice for all property owners in Donegal and other areas devastated by defective concrete materials. Defective blocks were found to have been used in farm buildings, schools, community centres and care facilities.

Redress Party candidate Charles Ward said: “We have no voice, we are at over 10,000 potential homeless in the future, we've got a scheme that is in place that's not fit for purpose where none of us can avail of the scheme because to avail of this scheme you have to get between fifty and 150,000 depending on the size of your house.”

In the party's manifesto, it outlines that thousands of homes and buildings have been left unsafe, placing immense financial and emotional burdens on families, business owners and our public services.

Referring to the People’s Document which was created by affected property owners and community groups, the party says: “It is our blueprint for achieving 100% redress, ensuring full compensation for all impacted property owners.”

The 100% Redress Party also says its mission does not stop at defective concrete and housing. The party says it is “dedicated to tackling a range of critical issues affecting Donegal’s communities.

This includes advocating for residents in social housing, ensuring they receive full redress, and providing support to people with disabilities, ensuring they have access to safe and accessible homes that meet their specific needs.”

Aside from defective blocks, the party's manifesto highlights the plan to support affordable housing to help young people and immigrants settle, build lives locally and offer extended childcare schemes. The party stated: “Investing in young people means investing in Donegal’s future, creating opportunities for them to contribute to the county’s growth.”Mr Ward concluded: “I had to stand up because it's time that people in Donegal have a voice in the Dáil
