Arthur McGuinness
Arthur McGuinness, who resides in Moville, is running as an independent candidate and has previously contested for both general and local elections in the past.
He feels that "Donegal has been left behind", stating that this election will be his last, due to his issues with the current government.
He has declared that he “wants to make a difference” if elected to the Dáil and end the wars in the Middle East, and Ukraine.
In his election leaflet, which is dated back to May 24, 2019, his priority, if elected, is to highlight everyday issues, such as public lighting, planning permissions, and plans or rates problems.
Believing business rates are too high, he proposes to have a three-year break from rates, as well as, buying back the oil and gas reserves in the Corrib gas fields.
Mr McGuinness also wishes to see broadband rolled out across the county so that people have the opportunity to work from home in rural areas, along with the building of more social housing.
