A general view of the fog during Thursday's U21B hurling final in Convoy as Buncrana took on Dungloe
Buncrana and Dungloe will have to meet again to determine the Donegal U-21B hurling championship winners after last night’s final was abandoned.
Buncrana 0-6 Dungloe 1-1
(match abandoned)
The final which was at the Donegal GAA Centre in Convoy was called off by referee Ciaran O’Neill before the start of the second half due to fog.
The fog began to descend just before the start of the game and got progressively worse and visibility was in the region of 20 metres by half-time. From the stand less than a third of the playing area was visible and it deteriorated even further over the course of the half-time break.
So when the referee and his officials returned for the start of the second period after a quick discussion the decision was taken to abandon the final.

Buncrana led by two points 0-6 to 1-1 with midfielder Caolan O’Neill scoring all of the Buncrana points. Midfielder James Hartnett scored the Dungloe point and full-forward Joe Doyle claimed their goal.
The goal came from a long range Hartnett free which was flicked to the net in a crowded goalmouth. Buncrana raced into an early lead and were 0-5 to 0-0 up by the time James Harnett opened the Dungloe account.
