Aaron Doherty (Naomh Columba)

Earmarked from a young age as a future Donegal senior, there has been a lot of weighed place on Doherty’s shoulders.

The Glen man returned to the fold this year amid little fanfare; likely a purpose tactic by Declan Bonner.

Diminutive in stature, Doherty has lifted his game on the big occasion several times. He clipped 11 points in 2017 to guide Naomh Columba to a Division 1 Minor League crown. Won an Ulster Minor Shield with Donegal in 2017.

In 2020, he starred for the Donegal Under-20s on their way to an Ulster final and was one of the recipients of an EirGrid U20 Football Championship Player of the Year Award.

Previously, when a student at Colaiste na Carraige, he was a Danske Bank Ulster Schools’ Football All Star winner in 2017/18. Played for Finn Harps Under-19s before being drafted into the Donegal senior panel in 2019.
