Markievicz celebrate their title win

Markievicz are Donegal Senior Camogie champions following Saturday night’s comfortable win over Burt before a big crowd at the Donegal Training Centre in Convoy.
Beaten finalists last year, Markievicz were not denied victory this time around and the outcome of this one was never in doubt from very early on.
And the Finn Valley girls had their hands all but on the cup as they led 2-6 to 0-1 at half-time after completely dominating the opening 30 minus.
Aimee Laffetry and Aoife Campbell scored the goals and Ciara Coulter posted five points for the champions. Avril Craig scored the Burt point in the opening half.
Markievicz dominated for most of the second half too and Coulter punished with six more pointed frees and Aime Lafferty also struck a second half point for Markievicz.
Allannah Curran scored Burt’s only point of the second half. Burt defended stubbornly in the second half and only for the heroics of Alice Dohetry, Grace McGonagle, Zara Hegarty, Emma McKinney and second half substitute Caithlin McCann the Marvievicz victory would have been greater.
