The Junior Championship is down to the last four this weekend with the semi-finals taking place and before a ball is kicked, the bookies would probably have an all-Inishowen final pencilled in.

Carndonagh take on St Mary’s, Convoy in the big clash in Burt on Saturday at 1.30 while the second semi-final takes place  in Convoy at 5.30 with Naomh Padraig, Uisce Chaoin taking on Naomh Ultan.

The heavyweight clash is the Carndonagh v St Mary’s match. The sides have already met this year in the Division 3 league final with Carndonagh coming out narrow winners by three points.

In the  championship the north Inishowen side have been clocking up huge totals - averaging over 26 points a game. And even though it was against some of the weaker clubs, it is still impressive.

And to add to that county player Conor O’Donnell is back training and in contention for Saturday.

St Mary’s, Convoy are also unbeaten in the championship as they got two byes. The only championship form guide is that both sides have played Naomh Brid, albeit St Mary’s against Naomh Brid was in Trummon. They managed to scrape a one point win. Carndonagh handed out a big defeat to Naomh Brid in Foden.

Carn will start as strong favourites and are tipped to make the final.

Naomh Ultan who take on Naomh Padraig, Uisce Chaoin

The other semi-final should also be close and there is a form guide as they met in round two in Dunkineely and Naomh Ultan had a very good win in an open game, 4-12 to 2-8.

Since then Naomh Padraig have been impressive in overcoming Naomh Brid in the semi-final and apart from county man Caolan McColgan, they have plenty of firepower in Kevin Lynch, Johnny Toye and Cormac McColgan.

Naomh Ultan will be hoping their talisman Cian Kennedy is in form and they will need to get a few goals again if they are to progress to the final.

Will it turn out to be an all-Inishowen. We will know on Saturday evening.
